Biography —

Marco Antonio Scanu was born on 12 October 1972 in Bosa (Oristano). He graduated in 1998 in Letters at the University of Cagliari. After having achieved the archivist certificate at the State Archive, is specialized in 2001 in “Sardinian Studies” with a thesis in Art History. It is currently writing to the doctoral program in the territory, Heritage and Culture at the University of Lleida (Catalonia). Deals with research in the context of the history of iberian art and cultural history of Sardinia that belonged for 400 years to the Crown of Aragon and then of Spain. He has published numerous articles and monographs from 1998. The last editorial commitment is the monograph Il retablo di Tuili. Depingi solempniter. Uomini, viaggi e vicende attorno al Maestro di Castelsardo (2017). It is co-founder and vicepresident of the cultural association Marafé (Cuglieri).

Project —

In the days of stay In Faber will participate at the International Medieval Meeting of Lleida. Within the scope of the doctoral program “Territories, assets the culture” (Universitat de Lleida) conducts a path of research on cultural relations and artistic works between aragonese territory and Sardinia in the context of political redreç of Ferdinand II the Catholic. Among the issues addressed, will develop in this seat, the biographical profile of Pilares Pedro (doc. 1477-1514), dominican, archbishop of Cagliari and – in Zaragoza – auxiliary bishop of Alonso de Aragón: a trustee of the king, inquisitor and patron of art in travel between the Kingdom of Sardinia and the iberian peninsula.
